Dylan O’Brien’s Maze Runner trilogy will leave Netflix on January 9, 2026, the streaming service confirms, giving viewers a limited window to revisit the dystopian YA films based on James Dashner’s novels.
The three films follow a group of youths trapped in shifting dangers — beginning in the Glade and moving through the Scorch to the final confrontation in The Death Cure. The series stars Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario and Thomas Brodie‑Sangster and was directed by Wes Ball.
While not uniformly embraced by critics, the franchise built a loyal audience through its action sequences and world‑building; the middle entry served as an explicit bridge to the finale and left fans waiting three years for closure when the third film arrived in 2018.
The cast, particularly O’Brien and Scodelario, received frequent praise for their performances, and Ball has since become a studio mainstay. 20th Century Studios announced a reboot in 2024, though no new details have been released.
With the trilogy slated to depart Netflix next January, viewers who haven’t seen the films — or want to rewatch them — are advised to stream them before they leave the service.
