The final trailer for the last episode of Netflix’s Stranger Things has arrived, setting up an emotional send-off for the series.
In the footage, a tearful Jim Hopper (David Harbour) tells Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), “I need you to fight one last time. Fight for a world beyond Hawkins. Let’s end this kid.”
The series finale debuts Dec. 31 in select theaters and on Netflix. The theatrical rollout has expanded from about 350 locations to more than 600.
Co-creator Ross Duffer posted that over 1.1 million people have RSVP’d for NYE and New Year’s Day screenings, and more than 3,500 showtimes across 620+ theaters are already sold out.
The finale arrives amid backlash following Vol. 2, which was review-bombed and sparked controversy over a scene depicting Will (Noah Schnapp) coming out; the Duffer brothers have not publicly addressed those reactions.
Stranger Things remains a major hit for Netflix — its fourth season drew over 140 million global views — and the series finale, directed by Ross and Matt Duffer, drops at 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday.
