About this effect
The Smalltown Boy dance video is a two-person trend set to Bronski Beat's 1984 hit. It opens with two close-ups shot on a wide-angle lens: each person lunges at the camera, clutching their head, mid-scream. Then it cuts wide, and the pair dance side by side in a courtyard, arms in the air.
The lens distortion and the timing are what make it work, and they are hard to shoot. This generator keeps both from the original clip and swaps in the people from your two photos. Faces, hair, and outfits come from your photos. The camera, the cuts, and the moves stay as they are.
You get a vertical video of about 24 seconds with the track, ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
